NIPUN, or the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy, is a vital component of the National Education Programme 2020 (NEP) within the framework of the Samagra Shiksha Scheme. Its core objective is to ensure that every child attains proficiency in reading and numeracy, essential skills for their educational journey.
Embedded within NEP 2020, the NIPUN Bharat mission targets the achievement of Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN) among children aged 0 to 8 years. This critical phase forms the bedrock of a child’s holistic development and sets the stage for future academic success.
